For Such A Time as This

It’s the year 2021, and you exist right now.

So do I.

Of ALL the millenniums and centuries and decades to be alive, the Lord in his infinite and matchless wisdom numbered your days to coincide with this exact moment in history (the fifth day in the second full week of the first month of the year 2021).

Have you ever considered this? Questioned it?

Why now? Why me?

It’s not popular or pretty, but I believe we witnessed the death of America as we have known it in 2020. When COVID breached these shores, our freedoms began rapidly evaporating right before our eyes and the masses were oblivious.Lady Liberty suffocated under a thick face mask of murder, hatred, riots, fire and contagion.I won’t go into my personal views of the China Flu (again, not a political post) but I think we all can agree that our lives were abruptly interrupted and have not been peaceful since.

Meanwhile, The Almighty was busy silencing the gods of this age – sports, movies, concerts and other worldly distractions.

Did His jealousy surprise you?

The new year brought with it promise and hope for better days ahead, but I fear things are only going to get worse (just as the Bible prophesized).

Is it fair that God divinely arranged your destiny to cross paths with an end times global reset and have your comfortable life uprooted and upended?

No, not really.But He did.

Perspective recalls when our loving Savior experienced such loneliness and self-loathing in the night before his death. He buried His Holy face in the rocks and dirt of the garden crying out to the Father. “Please Abba! I beg of You, don’t make me drink this cup!”

Was it right that a sinless man was executed with criminals?

Hardly.

Why was the Son of the living God abandoned by His Father in His direst hour? No, it wasn’t fair at all.

But it had to be Him.

See, Jesus was born for such a time as then. And while in that dastardly hour when blood and water mingled, the Lamb of God gazed over 2000 years into the future to this moment and beheld your life. And I truly believe we are rapidly approaching the time when we will gaze into those very same eyes – face to face with the Prince of Peace.

There’s 60 seconds left on the clock, and it’s almost midnight. We’re officially in the endgame now.

Which brings us full circle to you and me and what we’re still doing here. Every day, we find ourselves in the middle of a modern-day political upheaval that is ripping the very soul of our country into tatters. Our world is waxing away as a candle to the flame, and God wants to revive you from your self-imposed slumber.

“Arise, for my Kingdom is near! Go harvest!”

Do you feel unworthy? Sure.

Should it even be you? Probably not (at least that’s how I feel about me).

But then the Spirit whispers, “It is!”

You were fearfully and wonderfully made on the Potter’s wheel. Intricately designed and customized with idiosyncrasies and nuances – all unique to you. “Warts and all.”

The Divine Creator does not make mistakes .It may seem unfair that you would be positioned in THIS unique circumstance, to bear THESE burdens in a time that saints throughout the ages have eagerly anticipated – the restoration of all things.

It had to be someone.

And yes, it has to be you.

The Bride whispers, “Come!”

At long last, the time has arrived to press into the Lord in prayer, deeply mining His Spirit for your divine purpose in this hour of judgement. There’s a role for you and I – one for which we were fashioned before the foundations of this world were laid.

And now it’s our turn to step up.

Or you can go bury your head back in the sand again in oblivious ignorance.

God’s will is marching on – with or without us. Can you be counted on?The Creator included the gift of free will in your initial blueprint, so the choice is yours.

The hour is late. The storm is coming.

There is only One who holds the future. And He is calling you by name!
